If they were going to file, they should of done it by now. More likely right after the first of the new year. (Christmas is less than 3 months away and Chapter 11 would leave a bad taste right before the holiday season)

The Chicago Tribune reported that the Sears situation is 'unique' due to the connections with ESL and financial experts familiar with the situation say that no one really knows how much runway Sears has left .... if this was a normal situation like TRUs or Carsons (without a person like EL involved) then we probably would see a Chapter 7/11 play out soon.... this will be interesting to see how it's going to play out in the next couple of months.
