Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

IT Support org outsourced everyone in AMS

So the IT support in AMS has been outsourced, all the support engineers were laid off and for those who wanted, signed a new contract with a local contractor and all of them are being replaced with Indian workforce to work 24 x 7 shifts. Today my manager (myself being part of the IT support organization just a different level) told our team that maybe the same thing would happen to our team, not today or tomorrow, but in the near future.

Honestly I'm not looking outside because a WFR implies a big goodbye check, looking for some inputs from other people that might now if this is a reality and all the IT Support services are moving out from AMS to India.

This same thing happened in Delivery on my account several months ago. Most of the remaining staff (developers in this case) were outsourced to Mphasis. If they didn't agree to the outsourcing, they were WFRed. Most, unfortunately, took the offer, although several senior experts took the WFR and years of knowledge and experience walked out the door. I asked some of the people who took the offer why they did, and it was mostly because they are in a specific niche that didn't have a lot of outside job possibilities, unless they relocated. They didn't want to do that. Our client base has seriously eroded and not much future. I'm close to retirement so I don't care too much, but I feel for the experienced staff that are in their 30s and 40s. Tough posiiton to be in.

What other stupid actions have occurred at CSC and undoubtedly will be done at DXC?

network engineers were transitioned to AT&T that was done at CSC years ago. It does make sense, the same sense that people used CSC to outsource in the 1st place. id--ts

Another example is that of all the network engineers were transitioned to AT&T. Another illogical decision that makes no sense.

There's no documentation at all, managers announced the wfr's individually to each engineer, some of them accepted the outsource company offer, others don't. Core management announced it in a coffee talk that the positions were closed and transitioned to the outsource company.

This was for legacy HP/HPE IT support organization

Nothing has changed. Aon - 2005 - 140 workers laid off, BancTec made offers to 40 - avoid the WARN act severance doing so. 10 accepted the offers - they were that bad so BancTec had to scramble and outsource THOSE to Robert Half. Replacements were brain dead dumb kids - one delivered Pizza in previous job. Knew zip about catalog backup or server farms. Yeap, sounds the same from here. GET OUT while you can. Don't wait for the axe

Legacy ES in India are not escaping the culling - Banglore can expect to be thinned until it is threadbare as Chennai and Hyderabad

You best not wait to get your WFR. Get what you can outside jobwise. Even if you take a pay cut you will still have an income coming in. You are not as special as you may think and YOU will be WFRed. The sooner you leave the sooner some stability can come back to your work life. It's all about cost. If you are overpaid YOU are on the top of the list as soon as and Indian transition can take place. Anyone can do you job. DXC does not care about you or your family. Be proactive and just sting em while you can. Indians are just a warm body with little or no real knowledge of a business. They are task oriented only.

Yup, they will have been moved to whatever that CSC owned other company is on sh1tty contracts.

All of "field services" (ie dudes who go out to fix things in dc's or client sites) will head that way, if you are one of these guys you'll be toast fairly soon.

The other company has some dicey terms and conditions, so you might want to think about that.

As for our Indian friends, they will be replaced by AI soon.... AutoMikey(tm)

User: Hello AutoMikey, i'd like some help please

AutoMikey(tm): Is that going to cost DXC any money?

User: errrm

AutoMikey(tm): I'll take that as a yes. Please report to your nearest WFR liquidation centre.

AutoMikey(tm): Thank you for using AutoMikey(tm) where we WFR with a grin.
