At Intel you get fired. At COP, you get promoted. And placed on ethics panels.

The presentation was a complete joke. Having “of course I screwed my boss” , “intern mentor creep” and “openly solicit vendor entertainment” on stage together was rich

Transparency and openness are not valued at Conocophillips; why should they be here? Surely, ConocoPhillips has the resources to purchase info about posters and their IP address. No matter, most would probably say same things directly to those who need to hear if there was a hint of accountability. Sadly, it is more useful to post anonymously.

Don’t worry , there’s no moral imperative or high ground being targeted here. The intent is to minimize exposure to lawsuits - not try to build a culture with actual business ethics. The arts of lying, misrepresenting, misdirection, and covering up are still highly valued traits in supervision and management.

Our work and business ethics are never so urgent or important that we can’t take the time to lie, cheat, or steal to advance our own interests even to the detriment of the people who work for us, the company, or its shareholders.
