WARN act

I haven't heard much about this - typically Cisco is required by law to give 60 days notice. When does that go into effect ?

WARN is also site-based. In addition to other exceptions, if 50 or fewer at any site are impacted, the act does not apply (or if 50-499 at a site are impacted, but the amount, but the number is less than 33% of the total, active workforce at the site, the act does not apply.

@ kls so if what I'm hearing about 1 month package is correct, it means there really isn't much of a compensation from Cisco for the LR - all that's being offered is just to cover the 60 day requirement.

one month on payroll + one month pay in lieu is to comply with WARN

@ tlb, if that's the case, why are affected employees allowed on payroll for 30 days?

An LR is not a mass layoff. So WARN does not apply.
