Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Filing for unemployment

Hey,

Any Comanager who was laid off during 2018 and have been unemployed for at least 6 months may want to look into filing for unemployment. I know in my state they require 6 months of unemployment regardless of any severance paid.

Good Luck for those who apply.

I applied and am receiving it. I reported my severance and had to wait out the weeks of service I reported after I received my check. I had several friends that waited until after they got the check to apply and Gere in Texas the TEC will walk through everything. I had to go to an orientation at the TEC. I get a check every 2 weeks..

The one saving grace about these trolls is they're stupid. If they had access to real information they might do some damage.

Most states do not count severance as pay, but as a bonus. If you are laid off, you apply for unemployment ASAP. Your last sentence "I know in my state they require 6 months of unemployment regardless of any severance paid" makes no sense at all.
