Just wondering, since a lot of companies in our field seem to be in similar situation as we are. Where is the holy grail?

The level of politicking across the board is just astounding.
When people are too busy politicking they don't actually do their real jobs.
This is the result.
Other data/news vendors (BBG, ICE, Factset, S&P, Moodys, Fitch, Vela, Dow Jones, Markit), exchanges (Nasdaq, LSE, DB, CME, ICE), data centers (Equinix, Interxion), comms firms (BSO, GTT, Colt), software vendors (risk mgt, market/trade surveillance, OMS/EMS, analytics -- to many to name). Not to mention firms outside/related to financial services, the obvious ones: Google, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon. I know ex-TR at examples of all of these. And that doesn't get into the startups or the buy- and sell-side.
In general, the feedback I've heard (very generalized): other places can be very dis-functional too, the grass is not always greener. But also: regular cycles of massive re-orgs, uncertainty and political maneuvering are not the norm. Other places have issues, but TR had very serious issues.
To the Unemployment office..
All the action is in cloud, but you will likely have to move and it wont be the same slow lazy lifer TR way

I think for the many BB is the best choice ever and I can but expect that they will grab more market share in the future and might even get a 50% stake in all market....
