Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Out to sleigh the holiday season

Did SHC pay for this article? This comment made me laugh out loud-

“We’re firing on all cylinders to win Holiday 2018,” Quite a transformation-

It's almost like our policy overseas- bringing freedom to other countries, we have to destroy your country to save it. You cannot bomb a country into democracy just

Ike you can't destroy a company to try to save it. What you have left is not the same. Can't believe they are spewing this firing on all cylinders garbage again!

  • supposed to say they are matching Target and Walmart on toys before POINTS are even taken into account.

As a shopper I've noticed a big change in the past year. The promotions with spend x get x in instalments are awesome! They are totally whipping Walmart and Target on price. I've also noticed that they've made the syw easier to use and that the stores are better stocked and very busy. This year, the Christmas stuff was out a month before last year, with more selection. I've also noticed the quality of their own brands like Jaclyn Smith have increased dramatically. Not to mention, last year when certain items for Christmas had one or two in stock in each store and sold out right at the beginning of the season, leading to our if stocks and lost sales for weeks during the holidays, this year they've stocked 10 to 15 of those items right off the bat. Lastly, they've pushed their toy book and have ensured they are well stocked and match Target and Walmart on price (and that's before price is even taken into consideration). This company has taken advantage of the Toys R Us situation and are perfectly placed to seize on it. Laugh all you want, but as a shopper who has hoped for years to see a Kmart turnaround, I see it this year. Management seems to finally be paying attention to the retail detail. It's unbelievable how much can be gained from minor changes art the corporate and store level. Same store sales didn't go from negative double digits to positive after years this summer without cause. I think the 400 stores Eddie is buying stand a really good chance at a new start without the burden of the unmanageable debts. Now is the time to ensure your store is part of the 400. I foresee a great holiday 2018 with a new strong Kmart chain and money invested into the best stores (400) next year. I think finally, Eddie has seen the error of not investing in the stores and is ready to make the biggest comeback in retail history.

I think whirlpool is sleighing sears/Kmart demanding their appliances back!

I guess they meant to use SLAYING as in killing off stores this holiday season

Just shows how arrogant those upper level nut jobs are

They really think people are going to shop at their stores and that they carry all this cool stuff... that women want only the laura Scott clothes!! Lol

Remember their words “ business as usual”....gimmicks are not going to drive sales. The public has smartened up to sears/Kmart tricks

Especially their syw points that they don’t get immediately thinking that by spreading points over time will work ... customers want points now after their purchase not months from now

This one made me laugh also

“No other retailer has the breadth, capabilities and assets we offer,”

You’d think that comment came from Eli Wexler.
