Sears suing the layoff.com

Any truth to this? Our DM sent out an email claiming this.

WELL, I guess there must be to much truth spoken here. The drones must be affraid of more and more associates no longer drinking "SEARS BRANDED KOOL AID".

Must keep associates until the end, who will sell the rest of the product??

I know what, lets have the Board of Directors, all of the high paid VP's, DM's put on these lanyards and come throw frieght in my store. We are closing, packed the to ceiling on the sales floor and still getting shipments of 1200 1600 cartons weekly....The call outs are growing daily.

1st amendment rights pertain to speech addressing the GOVERNMENT. God I wish people would actually read the Constitution before quoting it. That being said, the DMs are ALL LIARS. I wouldn't trust a single one further than I could throw them.

You can sue anybody for anything. Doesn't mean you will get anywhere but thrown out of court

1st amendment rights. As long as you abide by the terms of service. People criticizing Sears for bad management going bankrupt is nothing more than Forbes is doing.

Oh please, your DM must have excrement for brains. A DM so inept as to guide SHLD straight into bankruptcy is now proffering a legal scenario. What a monumental display of idiocy!

@VVUCTjA-qsy That's just it, no one is harming anything by posting here. There is enough balance in the comments to provide full context and produce vigorous debate over what individuals see as right vs wrong.

Sears would have to sue every website out there that is posting unfavorable content related to Sears......Google Sears and dozens upon dozens of articles come up discussing Sears' issues.

Layoff.com did not cause Sears to go bankrupt....Poor leadership did.

Think in terms of publishing press… If I sell you a publishing press and you use it to do something stupid with this and harm people, is the maker of the press responsible. It was sold to you to publish, and it’s so up to you to use it in a way that does not violate any laws.

TheLayoff is just a publishing press, the user is responsible for the content…

If there was even a shred of truth to this, the suit would be laughed out of court and it would be more money wasted by Sears. Corporate giants of old don't like criticism, and they don't like those who buck the system. What are they going to do? Ban every stock website for prognosticators? Take the word of someone posting on the interwebs anonymously seriously? I could say that the Durian smells like doo doo , and tastes almost as bad. Someone that loves durian will be the durian cheerleader and tell me how it's the sweetest smell ever and the best fruit on the earth. People that don't like durians can't be sued for saying they don't like durians and then further their cause by saying nasty things about durians. Both viewpoints are represented widely here and there is enough corporate schilling that goes on here to represent both sides equally. They would also have to sue the store closing website and every single facebook group where sears is mentioned. Sears does not have the money or the time to get involved in fighting multiple major movements. Namely free speech, workers rights, and internet privacy. The radical intersectional feminists are ALREADY on their case for pushing women to the bottom of the advancement pipeline, so Sears had someone put out a puff piece on African Americans shopping during Jim Crow to counter. The social justice snowflakes have not relented, and that mob is without a doubt more of a concern than some employees , ex employees, customers, and family of employees or ex employees blowing off steam. The free speech brigade and the internet privacy brigade is something Sears should not be looking to mess with. They are already mad about Gab, and this would be a stick in the hornet's nest of 4-chan and the middle right libertarian you tube streaming community. They would also enrage the dead retail you tube community by doing this. It would also embolden the communist activists that are attempting to organize Sears employees against the company, even if it makes them look like hypocrites later on. Business journalists would crawl over sears at that point with a fine tooth comb as well. It would be VERY bad optics. IF it is true, there are several factors that would make a lawsuit a VERY bad decision.

There is no lawsuit against this website, and one cannot be filed because it would be absolutely groundless. Your DM has lost it or is high.
