Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Will Sears/Kmart really emerge from ch 11?

Must be some really good kool-aid these guys are drinking

Looking ahead, Sears said it plans to re-emerge from bankruptcy as “a member-centric company” with a pared-back store base of about 400 locations, down from the 687 Sears and Kmart stores at the time of the filing, and “with the capital needed to allow us to prosper in the future.”

For the holiday season, that means liquidation sales at 142 unprofitable stores and ongoing shutdowns at 46 previously targeted locations.

Sears is closing all stores in Austin Texas , I went to the store at Hancock in central Austin , prime real estate ! I wanted to take pictures of the store and sales prices , what I found was the employees there were very professional , kind and helpful even under the circumstances they were under ,, broke my heart to see such good people , under such horrible conditions ! I would have hired these individuals in a heartbeat if I had my own company ! While getting all my affairs settled for my retirement I worked at sears STAC . what a nightmare ! I worked 27 yeas as an engineer before going to sears . the sears corp. does not treat you like a human being , they dont even treat you like a good piece of furniture . I dont want the friends I made at stac and the stores to suffer , but I love watching the sears upper management swallow the load !

Also, how about taking care of your vendors first because you know, you need stuff to sell in the first place?!

“We’re firing on all cylinders to win Holiday 2018,” Sears’ brand chief Peter Boutros told TWICE. “We’re launching a very aggressive sales, marketing and promotional campaign to get customers back in the stores.”

Alittle too late I say!!
