3M is a great co, but not in all departments

Lots of middle layer created between top executives and the working level. Middle layer mostly act as reporters, and collate updates for the team. Mind you, these middle layer are extremely well paid. 3M has too much fat that's ready to be cut!
3M use to be where people aspired to work, as a result the best and brightest came knocking when jobs opened. Fast forward 10 years take away pensions, profit sharing and cut benefits in general and 3m no longer attracts the best. In short you want to be the best hire the best, have the best product the rest will take care of itself.
Plenty of belly fat to be cut...lots of middle management who do not contribute at all...lab manager level people with zero or minimal no. Of people reporting to them
Healthcare business, especially infection prevention division, is a mess. Horrible leadership, operates by creating fear among employees. Most hostile culture I’ve ever experienced. They need to clean house from low-level managers on up.
