Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Bk is just another transformation step

The bankruptcy is all part of the master plan. Getting protection from creditors is good. Now that we don't have to worry about that pesky debt we can concentrate on our main goal to be the best retailer in the world.

Unfortunately the "World's Greatest Integrated Retailer" is absolutely meaningless to the customer.

Certainly didn't resonate with the members. How many sales were spurred by this mantra? Most likely, none.

You mean The World's Best Intergrated Retailer.

I realize OP was being sarcastic in talking about the Accelerated Transformation. (Side Note: Other sites post that's an unusual choice of words for a bankruptcy but I'm used to SHC Corp speak.)

Never mind Target, Kohls, Wal-Mart, the list of retailers is endless, have the exact same Intergrated retail features. Ship to store, buy in store ship to home, curbside pickup, rewards programs, etc. Sears has NOTHING that others aren't doing.

I have a SERIOUS question. Who exactly is going to agree to vend their product to the company after this? "That pesky debt" is money that's owed to vendors for product. If SHLD thinks that debt is just pesky, isn't that stealing?

10 years ago we had next to no debt and the same goal. Look what happened. Same management now as then. So nothing new. Same result.

Death is also a transformation, but not part of any process I am looking forward to. Bankruptcy is failure. It will likely result in the death of Sears. Only a total id--t would see it any other way.

So what, exactly, is the plan to become "the best retailer in the world"? Better than all those competitors out there?
