Thread regarding Sears layoffs

My manager threatened me for reading this forum

I got called into the Sm's office today because he found out I was reading this sight and discussing it with my coworkers. He said it was a violation of Sears social media policy to even discuss it at work. He said Sears can trace your computer and a lot of people have actually been fired for posting on here. I was given a written warning and told if I talk about it at work again, I will be automatically terminated. I gave my two weeks notice on the spot, which I was gonna do soon anyway. Then two hours later he calls me back in and asks me to reconsider! I said no I'm done I don't like threats and walked out.

LOL @ the Napoleon complex. I thought it was because my male SGM is 5'6".

Just like most SHLD SMs, your SM has a Napoleon complex and loves being a horse's rear end. Those must be two requirements for SHLD SMs.

Sears can't even deliver a dish washer on time, have a register that doesn't crash every 10 minutes, have a roof that doesn't leak, have a phone system that works or a computer that is not from the 1990's. Unless you are still using a Motorola DynaTac phone, they wont be able to track you.

If Sears has the ability to monitor your home computer or smart phone, then why the f#%* can’t they make Sears.com work better?

I think at this point you can say that you gave your 2 weeks. Remember that you left this jobs voluntarily. If your store is anything like my store:

  1. No one answers the phone

  2. The paperwork doesn't get sent to Corp for ages that an employee left -- if it gets sent at all.

  3. Related to above. Employees are left active in the system for months.

  4. Say you left due to economic conditions of the company & that you wanted to focus on your job search.

  5. Remember it's holiday hiring season and you'll feel better no matter where you go.

  6. It's time for the store level employees to go Ayn Rand and think of THEIR best interest.

  7. Sears doesn't know what you look at at home and I seriously doubt even in store on your phone. Obviously on their system, yes.

  8. There is a brighter day ahead.

If Sears can read my post then you need to really look into all the discriminatory actions that y'all have done to employees and the company. Also if you can trace this phone why don't you do like Monica Lewinsky did to Bill Clinton and get under my desk and blow my horn.let them read this and find me I have so many phone recorded conversations it is not funny all the way to the high command.

I left the company earlier this year but while employed there, always kept my mouth closed at work in regard to discussion boards such as this.

I don't believe that many employers would be receptive to negative talk/bad mouthing the company by associates on the clock or on premises.

Sears has no way of knowing who is posting on here from home. Just don't access it while you're at the store.

I'm 100% positive that's illegal.

Employees have a right, under the National Labor Relations Act, to discuss the terms and conditions of their employment. Most certainly including wages, overtime, and pay scales.

Don't make threats, just do it. Good for you. Your manager is a puss. Best of luck.
