Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

November layoffs at Seagate?

I've been hearing about significant layoffs sometime next month. Just a few rumors here and there, but there has been enough of them by now to have me worried.

Do we have any idea if this is true or not? We all know more layoffs are coming, but I was not expecting anything before next year.

Anybody?

You'll get word of the hiring freeze soon enough. Word is just starting to spread from the top down. My manager flat out told me that he has been told from the VP no hiring till Q3.

As we usually see, this is step one before a layoff almost every single year in recent memory.

I have to agree that I believe layoffs are coming based upon a hiring freeze, which appears almost corporate wide.

TCO in Shakopee is not much better. I walk by all the empty desks that had engineers at them a year ago. Management is tearing down empty cubes, with the desperate hope that morale will not further tank. Good luck.

SHK is rumored to have big layoffs coming. How about NRM?? Anybody?

I saw a cart stacked with brand new moving boxes on it parked on mainstreet 1st floor next the elevator this morning in LCO.
