Tax & Accounting in the clear?

I haven't heard of anyone being let go. Are we in the clear?

In the Townhall last week it sounded like we are going to be okay. Has anyone heard otherwise?

Just had a townhall w Elstad and King in Global Operations. Full hour scheduled, but ended 8 mns early. A thousand people on the call but no one asked about layoffs. Or maybe they did but were not acknowledged. Complete overhaul coming.

I don’t think it’s safe to say that Tax & Accounting are in the clear.

The town halls that leadership have held have done nothing to ease the fears and concerns of the rank-and-file. The more town halls there are, the fewer answers you get.

What is happening with T&A is that the two divisions (Professional, Knowledge Solutions) have ceased to exist and the product lines that each division had will be under one structure in T&A.

Look at it as a merger: there will be layoffs and redundancies. Reps have already left due to the changes in the comp plan. You have two of everything: sales, middle management, support, back offices, the whole nine yards.

If you are in sales and you are not a top performer, dust off your resume and take charge of your situation. You are at risk of termination. The same goes for sales managers.

In my opinion, the layoffs are going to happen with sales first, and they are going to happen in two phases:

  • Underperformers will be shown the door next week (60 days before end of the year),

  • After Q4 (January 2019), redundancies in the rest of the sales force will be realized (average to above average sales people, sales managers).

The Polish “leader” along with his cronies underneath him are clueless. No fresh ideas but that’s expected. They’ve been with TR 10-20 years so they’ve become lazy and are only concerned with protecting their positions. The ELTs came up with cross selling as their “breakthrough” method of 8-10% growth haha. Good luck to everyone especially to those who don’t kiss up to ELT

I heard that marketing & sales are hit hard, but development are only taking a small hit, mainly the low performers. The reorg has left many in the middle without a role but it would appear that they get offered a demotion but keep salary.

I really don’t see much happening, it’s looking more like a shuffle around, but ultimately it will be the same people in meetings, just a bit more tension with authority as some people have gone from the bottom to the top in one move.

Either they are capable and it’s great to give them opportunities, or they’ve been s---ing up to right person in the bozo culture at TR.

The tax professional town hall was not very clear. The head of the tax group said that the front line jobs are safe through the end of the year but she was not clear about what to expect in 2019. Per usual it is the same story of keep selling and be patient. There was supposed to be a second town hall later this month that was canceled...

No. Global Town Hall on Tuesday. There will be definitely be layoffs following that. The question is what percentage will be cut this year vs 2019.
