Is having a horrible benefits dept an omen of a business going down? I’ve never dealt with such unprofessional people as I have with the benefits dept.

I’ve been going around and around with the benefits dept too and can honestly say I’ve never dealt with anything like it, they ignore you for weeks then tell you that you will hear back from them in a few days then weeks go by with no response. Would be great if excused weren’t made for them in Chatter. Fix the issues.
This company could f*ck up a wet dream.
I think it's beyond omens to being crystal clear the company is steadily declining. A bad benefits department is just a symptom of core rot and purification.
