Not sure where to ask, so here goes on TLO - I'd like to find out what the base salary range of grade 8 engineers at Intel is (as of 2018 or 2019). Not sure if you can chime in on the total compensation as well - what's the break down and what the pay/compensation ranges would be? I was looking at GD but the numbers make no sense and are all over the place. I am guessing pay differs quite a bit based on the location or geography, I am interested for values in Santa Clara and Hillsboro. Thanks in advance.

The FAANGs do not pay double for G8 type work. The big numbers you see thrown about ($300K+ salaries, 6-figure signing bonuses, etc...) are /not/ for G8-equivalent job functions.
It's worth shopping yourself around if you're expecting something dramatically higher than Intel compensation. You'll likely be disappointed.
Dang and you know how much the FAANGs pay, probably double
Confirmed well below market rate.
(Adding to below post), in Hillsboro.
I was at $133k base and about $200k Tcomp (includes stock, bonus, and 401k) last year.
I got promoted last year to grade 8 after 4 years in grade 7. My salary got 10% raise. Currently the base pay is $149600
I know you needed actual numbers, not advises.
I was GR8 intel, and was laid off 2016.
My base was 130K. Hope it helps
up to $200K is possible if you wear out your knee pads servicing your manager. :)
I was making about 150K plus 25K in bonuses/RSUs.
Check Blind.
take market pay and cut it by 30%
