Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Severance reduction?

Is it true we are looking at possible reduction in severance? I overheard something at the office, and if it's true then AIG is sinking even lower than I thought.

But I'm honestly hoping what I heard were just idle rumors. Any chance somebody here knows something more about this?

They should cut the LTI out first. It's just not fair to the rest of the employees that only get STI

I get cutting STI as long as the fat cats take the biggest hit, and LTI is cut to zero first. Why do senior folks get guaranteed $$ and the little people get cut? Because they can, and will always look out for themselves first.

Earning report comes out on the 31st. If you make money you get a Bonus if not why should you get one. Stock prick is down 33% since BD came onboard. What about the stockholder??? The company has not made money 10 out of 13 quarters. Leave and find a company where you can use your skills to make a profit.

Same here. I was let go and received two weeks/year of service and pro-rata STI.

Chill out at the beach !

I think there would be a lot of issues if they were to cut severance.

Why should they pay STI (Bonus) The company has not made money in years. If you only have a few years move on if several years work slower and wait to be layed off.

I was laid off in September after 14 years. They paid the full severance. Two weeks for every year, 75% of the STI and accrued but unused PTO days.
