Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Apple is abandoning Intel’s chips in macs by 2020

Although Apple hasn't officially confirmed this, we all know that they have been in development of chips for quite some time now. If this is true, it could be a massive blow for Intel, not just in terms of order declines, but also in terms that if this shift to in-house production turns out to be a good move for Apple, it will encourage other manufacturers to do the same thing. Don't see this as something that can hurt us right now, but if this starts a trend we could suffer terrible consequences in the long run.

TSMC will be on 5nm while Intel and TMG will be struggling with 10nm, no brained to transition all chips to TSMC

This is a pipe dream. Apple's ARM chips aren't even in the same ball park as Intel's chips.

This is b---s--- posturing in a weak effort to get Intel's prices down.

Apple is the company that is the slowest PC maker to adopt Intel's latest technology. This is probably a concerted effort to make their b---s--- chips look reasonable.

Apple chips are already better, 10nm cancellation will only increase the margins

Would love to see Apple's chips vs. Intel's chips in high-performance benchmarks. Apple will look ridiculous.

Those dozens of chips Apple purchases from Intel will be the nail in the coffin.🙄
