Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

The final cuts coming to the power facilities by years end

The total number of cuts is 50-60% in each factory still operating for GE Power. Flannery said the cuts were done, Culp has more cuts up his sleeves. Happy Holidays from GE Power and your local so called union.

Should be able to determine the carnage after Culp speaks at his first earnings call on the 30th. If it turns out like Flannerys talks, the stock will drop 5-8% which will further add to the number of people they will have to get rid of to make investors happy. We'll see....I'm not very optimistic.

I'm expecting layoffs in one form or another, for whatever reason they come up with, sometime around mid January next year in Schenectady, in my own opinion. I personally don't feel optimistic enough in a positive way to believe it can't happen. I didn't see any of this coming a couple of years ago and now here we are.

I heard they are going to lay off culp to save 30000000 in salary and 10,000 jobs...but dumb--s ge management would only see it as cutting 1 job instead of 5000...metric wouldnt look good for HR

@VLw66OB-jez Oh yes there will. I'm a double senior executive in Boston and you haven't even heard how many cuts there will be. We are going to cuts the workforce by 120%.

Cuts, cuts and more cuts. There will be cuts everywhere. There will be so many cuts that cuts will be made at factories that GE doesn't even run. In Atlanta? Coca-cola. In Baden? ABB will make cuts out of sympathy. In Greenville? BMW. In Albany? The state legislature will cut itself by half. Unheard of yes, but that's how big these cuts will be in GE. Big. Deep. Cuts.

Saying it is a final cut might be optimistic. Doubt they will just do a flat cut across the board, some may close or be furloughed till market improves.
