How many people are being let go as part of the latest closing announcement? I've read number that go anywhere from 3,000 to as high as 10,000.
Both of those seem wrong (too few and too many.) Anybody knows if there is an official number of how many people are about to be jobless?
To simplify things, just count the total number of employees between both chains. That is your number as they are all going to be unemployed when this c-apshack collapses in a couple months.
I think the average for both formats combined is around 45 per store. So roughly 6500 for 142 stores. There will also be store support in various areas. Fewer DMs, fewer logistics people, fewer HQ staff. All told, probably another 300.
