Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

A quiet rant to remain calm

As the title suggests this is going to be a bit of rant otherwise I'll loose my cool and miss out on that sweet, sweet redundancy.

I am so angry and frustrated at this senseless decision to close Wrexham and move those jobs to Bangalore. As someone who checks the work that is produced by our replacements I am astonished at how poor the quality is, it would seem that there is no logic or common sense when approaching the work and the focus is on getting records sent through rather than on quality. Constantly having to send work back with errors and having to explain what I mean when I say "please copy and paste the registered address exactly as found on the source."

The most frustrating thing about this whole redundancy is being told its about "the right people in the right places" and checking the work of these people who lack the common sense, skills and experience that are required to build a record to an acceptable standard.

I think I now understand why Paul Barlow fought to keep SDA on the Wrexham site only.

Factoring in human error, the amount of records produced and the variety of variables (jurisdictions, industry, regulation etc) I'd say it was pretty good, but yes when other departments have a quality target of 98% it can be improved but I certainly don't think it's unacceptable, however if you were to say 30 in every 100 is unacceptable I'd be inclined to agree.

93%?

Why not a 100%?

That means 7 in every 100 is no good, surely thats unacceptable?

What is there to explain? We all know the companies line, "the right people in the right places" I'm surprised that they haven't changed the values etc as the company doesn't care about the customer at all, it cares about profit margins and maximising the value so in a couple of years it can be sold again for even more money. People have worked hard, put sweat, tears and thousands of hours into making a product that is award winning for quality and in less than a years time those quality levels that sit at ~93% will plumit below 70%. How good it feels to be a blue warrior, a stronger message couldn't be sent out by refinitiv regarding the vedass product.

When is David Craig visiting Wrexham to explain the situation in person?

For a company that only cares about immediate revenue and cost cutting these are the right people in the right place, very cheap and disposable.
