Time to get rid of H1B as well. I just can't believe what happened in my group this month. An H1B guy who works in the same group doing the same exact job as many of us was able to save his job after being notified that his job would be cut by relocating to the state/location where the rest of the team, manager, and director are located. I guess they offered to save his job if he relocated to where the rest of the team is but the USA citizens from the old location were never offered to relocate and were just laid off. This didn't happen at Citrix but at a telecom company. That's why I vote to get rid of H1B jobs, don't let the H1Bs apply for green card. There should be a rule that the max they can stay is 3 years (not six years) and can not apply for green card or stay in this country due to their green card processing. I've never heard of an American go to India and apply for Indian permanent residency while also working on an Indian work visa.
