Thread regarding Sears layoffs

IS THIS A RUMER -- OR SOMETHING THATS GONNA HAPPEN

THE U.P.S DRIVER GUY TOLD ME TODAY THAT BECAUSE OF THE BANKRUPTCY OF SEAR'S HOLDING .UP.S. MIGHT NOT PICK UP OUR PACKAGES THAT WE SHIP OUT """ONLINE ORDERS"""

UH OH

NOW I HAVE BEEN HEARING A LOT OF THINGS BUT HE SAID THAT IT HAD TO DO WITH WANTING PAYMENT UP FRONT

SOUNDS REASONABLE ------ GIVEN THE PRIDICIMINT WE ARE IN U.P.S. MAY WANT TO COVER THEIR BASS'S AND MAKE SURE WE (SEAR'S ) ( K MART ) HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO COVER SHIPPING CHARGES

BUT A UPS DRIVER IS PRETTY LOW ON THE TOTIM POLE ------ SO HOW DOES HE KNOW ABOUT LEGLE STUFF ( STUFF CEO'S DEAL WITH )

DO THEY ( U.P.S. DRIVER'S )KNOW SOMETHING WE DONT

DOES ANYONE RECALL ANY THING ABOUT LOSING OUR UPS PICKUP'S

OF CORSE THE MANAGER HAS NOT HEARD ANYTHING WHEN I ASKED

I THINK IT WOULD BE BAD FOR THE STORE'S IF WE CANT SHIP OUR CUSTOMER ORDERS

SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT ONLINE ORDER'S MAKE UP FOR HALF OF OUR SALE'S IN THE STORE

WHAT DO YALL KNOW OUT THERE ---------

Funny, my Ups driver told us the same thing. They won’t be coming anymore, he just didn’t know the last day he would be at the store. 😪😪😪

Hopefully it will get sorted because it's the last few customers left trying to buy online. If you can't ship anything out, then you shouldn't have a website taking orders.

Looks like this may be true. I see on pebble this morning that stores are getting an error message when trying to ship

@1vqi - Public utilities aside, vendors and suppliers should have cut SHLD off ages ago. The fact that SHLD was failing and financially hobbled has been clearly evident for years. Any company that was foolish enough to do business with SHLD up to this point gets no sympathy from me if they suffer a financial drubbing.

You miss understand. The court can order that the lights be kept on; but that does not relieve the responsibility from a company to pay utility bills while operating under bankruptcy terms. The order simply prevents immediate shut-off.

Judges have judicial immunity from lawsuits based on their decisions, especially for monetary damages.

@krs - I think it's ridiculous that a judge has any power to force the utility companies to keep the lights on and the gas and water flowing, or to force somebody to provide products or services that may or may not be paid for. That sounds like communism.

I know that I would personally sue the judge for any incurred losses due to his or her decision and would seek all other kinds of damages a crafty, bloodthirsty attorney could come up with against him or her.

Spell check is your friend, the caps key is not.

Online was supposed to be the savior — funny how nobody talks about it much. They don’t publish numbers for online. Know why? Because it’s been shrinking for years. Our websites are terrible. There should have been one site years ago but we maintained several. They were all bad. Such a waste. There was a hope for transformation if they could have gotten online right but they failed over and over again.

It's not as odd as it sounds. Most operations must be directed through permission of a bankruptcy judge. Sears has requested through the judge that utility companies be ordered to keep their lights on.

A Greeting Card company has already demanded the cards be removed from shelves and returned to them. Sears is contesting the request. A water bottling company has demanded, through the court, their product be removed from shelves and returned; as they believe their most recent invoices will not be paid.

He can barely spell or punctuate, what's a little shouting? The guy is just telling you what he heard.

Currently UPS is the company that ships everything for Sears and Kmart Stores and warehouses. I know they are still shipping as Home Services has delivery of parts almost every other day from UPS and delivery happened yesterday. Don’t take what you hear from UPS. Sears Holdings has an account set up and if payment is required to ship then there is a form of payment on account now

Phillip, couple of things. Typing in all caps is bad...stop doing it. With all the technology we have misspelled words should not be sprinkled throughout your post. When your phone/computer suggests a spelling....take it...its probably right.

UH OH!!! You started a thread over what a guy in a matching brown short set told you. Look, Sears is closing...use your time wisely and find a new job. On your resume make sure to do a spell check and caps lock OFF!

Why would any company in there right mind would want to render services to Sears Holdings????? They’re expecting to miraculously come out of bankruptcy with the same leaders with the same tired ideas.
