This is probably only the beginning of the legal chaos that will ensue. I venture that SHLD will soon be saying "hello" to Chapter 7 bankruptcy!

If Sears Holdings gets a high enough offer for the judge to approve the sale of Kenmore brand name and the Home Services division, expect the rest to go to liquidation. The profitable stores do not bring in enough currently to run the headquarters and pay the executives. Home Services only brought in 1 billion in sales in 2017 (that came from Eddie himself to them). Everything has been mismanaged for too long. The most profitable district of Home Services is now in shambles because of micromanagement and the demand to sell not repair. They first ran off the DM, then they hired a DM that has no clue what HVAC-R does and ran off their skilled and experienced technicians. Now that district is the lowest producing. They hire store managers that don’t know how to manager a store, run off the good staff for cheaper and younger replacements, and don’t provide the stores with the leadership they needed. Eddie has made it plain as day he wants to purchase Kenmore brand name, Home Services, and the 400 profitable stores. He made the mess as Sears has been dying for too long and instead of a restructure, he sold off brands that made profit as he didn’t want them, bought up the property he sold as CEO to make Sears stores pay rent to him and he dictated that rent, and is now closing stores he ran into the ground because they are stores in property he doesn’t own. The judge needs to hold Eddie accountable along with the rest of the board and they need a new board to manage what is remaining.
