Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

WFR is coming

If Lawrie says your region isn’t performing as well as he expects it’s a definite sign of WFR’s. You should have zero doubt about this.

People in the UK know this very well. From the CSC days when he firstcame, every single year, sometimes every 3 months but mostly it was on 6 month cycles we would go through a big WFR.

Now we barely have any staff left in legacy CSC and instead those lost roles have been filled by legacy HPE staff. Which makes me wonder that perhaps HPE were not cut to the bone in their old organisation.

I’m 90% sure that cuts are coming this quarter, this isn’t speculation or scare mongering. In the legacy CSC side there was some last quarter. But given that they have minimal staff left on accounts, the cuts are usually in the 10’s, at the most circa 100, that’s why you don’t get to hear about it.

Also this is the first year where UK has won any new business so hopefully that growth will be offset against losses elsewhere.

There is no logic to the cuts, anyone is game. A new bout of apprentice interviews took place a few weeks ago, that basically means your on borrowed time in my books.

Busting a gut doesn’t keep you in a job, looking after your interests is what generally keeps you in employment. Do training, do on line courses. Learn new sh--, invest in your self and your family. When the time comes it’s having that positive mindset which will help you move on. If you neglect everything in the hope of keeping your job, when they get rid of you it’s that much harder to accept it and move on. By that time your self esteem has gone, you have becomes a miserable b--tard and your wife and kids hate you.

If your over worked, working harder isn’t the answer. Let it fail, spread the pain. Only then they will realise.

I worked with former CSC employees, former HPE employees, and legacy ES employees and all areas were cut to the bone. They pulled in people from all areas to try and staff critical clients to look like they had sufficient staffing when they met with clients. The truth is, we did not have enough staff behind the scenes to meet the customer SLA's and the customer was not happy with the service. Unfortunately for the customer, they were on a 3 year contract. 1 year into the contract, they decided it was more beneficial to pay DXC to go away than it was to keep the remaining 2 years on the contract. My last official act for DXC was to fly out to meet with the customer and discuss the plans of how to eliminate DXC from their business. Our account management team was thrilled to be rid of the customer complaining and get the big buyout. How short sighted is that? I gave notice two days later as I already had another job lined up. I waited 2 years at DXC, and 2 years at HPE prior to that to get the right offer so I know what it is like to sit at DXC everyday and wonder how long I would be employed, but I appreciated getting the paycheck so that I could wait for the right offer to come along while I took the abuse for Mike L. and team. I am glad to say I am out now and got a 30% bump in pay, a much larger bonus plan, and unmeasurable stress reduction and life balance for my patience.

There is a better world out there. My best wishes to those of you who remain and my advice is to keep your resumes updated and your networking skills sharp. You have great experience and fortitude that is needed at companies who will appreciate it more.

The outsourcing company Is now outsourcing its employees so there are more WFR’s than meets the eye.

Talk to people you work with daily and ask if they are still with DXC. Look for them on Workday and see if they still have any employees number ?

The employees count is going down on the DXC company site and by a lot.

Infrastructure , outsourcing, platform support is all going by the wayside. DXC is only pushing to consult on Amazon, Microsoft and other big boys. Because they didn’t have a vision to come up with a customer service facing cloud design. They can’t compete with the big boys so instead of coming up with a bigger better design they are trying to become the leading consulting company. Too little too late sorry Mikey

I am a customer of DXC and far from being impressed with them. My management has decided to ditch DXC in favour of a competitor. No names here but such a large client as mine is then DXC will be provided with their notice shortly. Sad but true.

Let's face it, the Death Knell is ringing loud for this sad, pathetic Sh1th0use of a company...only the useless excuses of managers are going to benefit at the end of all this. Really bloody sad, as this could have been a gold mine of an experience if greedy, malicious tossers hadn't ruined it. Good night DXC, RIP, the way you are going. Shame on you greedy b--tard shareholders!

There is absolutely no merge between CSC and ES. Everything is happening as people are part of different comainis, they are ignoring themselves and continue to do what they were doing before.

For ex ES people, there are still some L7 or L6 managers, but, from L5 to L1, no more ex ES managers. Ex CSC managers are managing ES business like they were managing consulting teams and business. They don't understand anything to outsourcing. They absolutely don't care about customers. They are refusing to meet them !!!!

Imagine what a customer is thinking about DXC, when DXC managers are refusing to meet him ! Those ex CSC managers are refusing to understand the customer company is putting its "life" into our hands. If DXC does not work as expected, the customer company is going to shutdown !

So, customers are not confident about the DXC managers whose ignoring them, they stop contracts, they don't work anymore with DXC, and DXC IS DYING !

ES was cut to the bone for years before the merger. Unless you were customer facing or lived near Newcastle or Erskine then you were out.

I work with graduates and I’ve yet to meet one who actually has any hands on skills.

They can do PowerPoints really well and use the style guides. I’ll give them that. Beyond that they know sweet f--- all.

Give them any difficult challenge which requires some technical know how and watch how they just say yes to everything in the hope that someone else will get the blame at the end. So many projects where PM’s say yes to everything because they lack the understanding of the solution. And then they wonder what went wrong when the sh-- lands on the techies door to fix.

Would they ever get rid of a grad over a long serving techie? Never is the answer.
