Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Teachers shouldn't be blamed for DCEH’s ill practices

I am still at Ai Austin, just got a job offer and will be leaving next quarter. Those of you who are shaming us, knock it off, we still need money, we have families, we can't just leave. They told us 4 days before the next quarter started that we were getting demoted to part time. The minute they did that though, my resume started to go out everywhere. I worked my freaking butt off for the students. Even with all the bull c-ap that DCEH is doing, even though Brent is one greedy piece of c-ap, I made sure my classes were as good and as relevant as I could make them. I tried to make Ai better, I tried to turn it around, but I don't think DCEH wants that. Pretty sure our campus will be going out of business here pretty soon. But I just gotta say, don't be jerks to those of us that stayed, it's not because we wanted to support the bull c-ap of Brent Richardson, it's because we wanted to make Ai better and be there for our students

This post told a good story about the position that some teachers are in at DCEH schools, not agreeing with everything that is done, but having to stay for the money.

It's not so much that we blame the teachers per se. The information is being withheld at a level detrimental to continuing education. You have families and need insurance etc. I do NOT fault you for that. The issue is in knowing these issues and basically abandoning your students when that call comes. As a grown man, I respect your need to look out for number 1 but damn a heads up would be nice.

I busted my b*tt for 16 years. . three regional accreditations, three program accreditation. . not just being there, CONTRIBUTING. . when they needed persistence, I held student's hands. . when THEY F'd up an HLC accreditation I was on three committees and wrote two reports. . and what did I get? No severance! Not even a thank you. Just told, you are laid off, we'll send you the date and by the way, no severance because we're giving you SO much notice. . GollyWally, A-HOLES! Thanks for NOTHING!

I think part of the criticism of AI teachers is a result of all the layoffs. There aren't enough experienced instructors left to adequately cover the classes on offer. Too many instructors are now being called upon to teach classes and subjects they know nothing about.

Going to a site called “The Layoff” and expecting people to direct sunshine up your a-hole is pretty naive- as is comparing people harmed by EDMC/DCEH to those dong the harming.

@VHTPTIu, how many teachers have told their students and former students about "I Am Ai"?

Speaking of real aholes:

"They told us 4 days before the next quarter started that we were getting demoted to part time. The minute they did that though, my resume started to go out everywhere."

But the moment you heard ( about the demotion, paycut, that is) so long Charley to the butt working off I "love the students" routine.

Well said. I feel the same way. There are some real a-holes that comment on here...honestly, their comments make them no better than the higher ups at DC.

Good for you for finishing strong for your students and all the best to you and everyone else that finds light outside of this dark hole.
