A friend who was laid off got a really good package and is out of this hell hole for good. This and several more issues within the past several weeks have made me personally pivot from fearing being on the list to hoping I'll get notified .
Who'd have thought that those laid off would end up being the lucky ones.

I enjoyed my role and found work addictive in a way. Checking emails via the web interface while watching tv during the evening , responding when required , finding others still online in other time zones who might start a RM/Jabber with you ....
However I was glad to get the redundancy when I did and I positioned myself to get it.
Now when I look back I had let my work and role become all consuming.
Now retired and enjoying life and glad I’m out of it reading these forums.
Feel sad to see a company I enjoyed working for (Reuters and then TR) ending up this way and staff it seems thrown to the Blackstone dogs.
Yes and it will free you up and get in touch with the life well it's look terrible at the first but smile in the end.
