Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Working @ DXC

DXC Technology is horrible company to work with. One of my colleagues who worked for around 10 years in CSC/DXC , who never got any promotion during this period, got WFRed last month. He was an extremely talented guy with diversified technical skills. He was given retention bonus for the period July 2017-July 2018 and by the end of August 2018, he was WFRed. Wow - DXC !!! You had prevented him from joining jobs outside DXC in the last one year and the moment the retention period got over, you WRFed him. Not sure about other countries, but DXC in India is simply terrible. Nasty politics in every layer - managers have protected their favorite team members ( who can please the managers by any means) and the names of the others in the team have been nominated for WFR. Not sure why the investors are still investing on it - but it would not last long for sure. So many clients have discontinued contracts in the recent times , how many outsiders know it?

The market is actually pretty hot just now, CGI, Capgemini, Accenture, all recruiting like mad (and not laying people off)

Only one safe employee? Don't forget the other safe employee being Jo Mason.

Once India closes down then the value proposition for cheap-shoring will need to be redefined.

To be fair DXC did not prevent your friend finding another job in that period, they fell in to the trap of believing they were special or safe and DXC valued them. In the end, until they switch the lights out, only one employee is safe, it would appear.

There have been enough posts warning what this company is really like to work for.

Don't worry. DXC is closing down all operations in India in February 2019. You won't have to suffer this horrible company any more :)
