Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Let's start a list of all the Kmarts where they owned the market

Places where they owned the market with little competition and could have been the backbone of the company. Shareholders were not served because this company run properly could have made a fortune being a successful retailer had they not simply been asset stripped .

Madawaska Maine

Conneaut Ohio

Paradise, CA. The town has basically said they hate Kmart, but are in a bind because it’s the only quasi department store without driving into another town (Chico). Paradise Kmart does well without trying and even though they are despised. I believe it’s a top 25 or 50 store. Also McKinleyville and Grass Valley, CA

Kmart doing well in Corvallis Oregon. Every time I am in there, they have enough customers to keep 2-3 cashiers busy.

My opinion on buying online.

It is great if you can wait a few days to a few weeks for something you need, but if you need something right away or have to try it on for size (clothing and shoes) then the brick and mortar stores will win out every time. There is also the social factor of shopping that most people ignore when shouting out about internet shopping.

Why is this relevant? You're beating a dead horse.

Most everything you can buy at Kmart, can be purchased on-line and delivered to your home.

I'm fairly certain that the good people of Madawaska ME and Conneauat OH will survive
