Unemployed Warriors - An Alternative Refinitiv Rap

CHORUS (X2)

Unemployed warriors! Waiting in line as we queue for the dole!

Unemployed warriors! Doing our best to find a new job role!

Unemployed warriors! Tellin’ our fams that we gonna be poor!

Losin’ our jobs to the homies in Bangalore!

VERSE

We are frustrated, seems like we are fated

To lose this family that we f---ing created

The decision was easy, wasn’t at all debated

Blatant corporate cost-cutting has left us all jaded

Don’t know what they bought, don’t understand what we do

It’s all about greed and saving a buck or two

This sh--’ll go south when the banks see the work

But the big suits sneer cos they don’t give a feeerrrkkkk

TR sold us out cos they be brainless

Promised our jobs would be safe, the transition be painless

What do we do? Gotta find a new job

Years of service cast aside just to save a few bob

The needs of the rich outweigh the needs of the poor

So they move our operations all the way to Bangalor

Gotta do something dumb, greedy and derivative,

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing motherfucking Refinitiv!

CHORUS (X2)

VERSE 2

So who are we? People with no place to be

I’m not an Amazonian or Googler – not even a refinitivee!

They’ve made a dumb--s mistake, why can’t they see?

cos they must be high – how f---ing thick can they be?

This job is complex, experience is the key

They’ll finally get it when this business is history

We built this place, proud to call it our own

It’ll soon be destroyed by the douchebags at Black s t-o-n-e

Got caught in this situation and now we are stuck

Thought we were secure but now we’re sh-- out luck

couldn’t knock sense into these d---s if we hit ‘em with a truck

We told them they’re wrong, they still don’t give a f---

Less of a start up, more of a corporate f--- up

When it comes to their data, their stats will soon s---

Our inexperienced replacements will soon be damn stuck

So unemployed warriors, lemme see you throw them middle fingers up

VERSE3

So keep them fingers in the air, and lets all say

That we’re heartbroken things had to go this way

Got stabbed in the back just because of our pay

They’re gonna start doing thangs in a much cheaper way

That’s why they’re moving our jobs outside the UK

The job markets tough and we’re about to enter the fray

Cos we’ve been made redundant, much to our dismay

So let’s jump this sinking f---ing ship without further delay

Friendship separation, poor organisation

Employee termination, corporate mas----ation

Decency castration, out-sourced job migration

Weak foundation, misinformation

Money fixation, eternal damnation

Old businesses cremation, regurgitated narration

This total miscalculation, births a sh-- reputation

The summation of all this refinivation

Sorry to hear about your line manager being laid off - it is always difficult

Which location was he or she working at?

Here is the voice of people, the real feeling, Thehub full of the false compliments. My line manager was laid off, I am VERY SAD. Not sure if our group is dissolved, I am very disappointed with the Refinitiv.

Oh... I do hope the FT picks up on this brill rap as well! Much more newsworthy / less sycophantic than the other one.
