Thread regarding Sears layoffs

After store closures, layoffs in other parts of the company are next

Lalyoffs at HE and some of the other parts of the company begin next week. They are still structuring the BK. The easiest part is to close a store so that is the beginning. Then you shut down divisions like buyers, marketing, IMX, Innovel, IT, customer service, repairs, AP/LP, legal, environmental services etc

We have to be aware that this is the only way ch 11 can play out at Sears. First store closures, then massive layoffs at other parts of the company. Although I doubt they’ll be cutting entire departments, but rather selectively targeting specific employees. Originally posted by @VFOyrkb-beg

Innovel has a third party base that they have to service. They are not going anywhere

If they get the store count down to roughly 350 (assuming they keep some bubble stores), they will need to reduce expenses by $2 Billion a year. That means massive head count reductions, probably 60-70% in the next few months.
