Thanks for stating the obvious. Everyone knows this is partly an offshoring play...
However- the savings of offshoring are exadurated and you will/are going to get hit, or offhsored as well. Refer to other posts o. This

Of course it is a layoff ? What else is it if someone loses their job, unless they want to move to Bangalore on local terms ?

I know there are QAs in NYC and Chicago impacted as well.
I know of 5 ops from 17th fl in NYC, 4 more remote ops that report into there.
On a separate note, 3 devs from the same floor.
