In Geneva, this is obviously 120 fixed term employees out of 178 Refinitiv. Contractors are excluded from these nrs for the moment (there is almost 30 contractors in Customer Admin ...) so we can almost speak about a site closure when the nr of contractors will be announced ... They said mainly Customer Admin and Customer Support will be impacted, the 2 major departments in Geneva. Not sure what will happen to Sales Department.

Wouldn't say they 'always' want PILON. Colleague of mine worked half his 3-month notice last year, after which they mutually agreed that was enough. Another colleague in the big 2014 purge 'worked' all of his 3-month notice... or at least he was supposed to be working but maybe saw him twice.

Got told my London role was 'at risk' today.

45-day consultation period that company started on 9th ends somewhere around 25-Nov. In the UK this is a game we play to pretend that companies try find some alternative way of saving $650 million, which of course there isn't.

Most interesting bit is they want to pay in lieu of notice (PILON), so perhaps gone 2-Dec. They truly want headcount banished from their books by year-end, it seems. Can bury all this in the fog of a $22 billion deal, and makes next year's numbers look better.
