Today was a big day for Infrastructure Services as AIG trims the fat from non-essential areas of IT, aka the data center. Basically, if you don't contribute to selling insurance, be ready. It's more important to make "The Street" happy than to run the business in a more efficient manner. Those saving money and working for the numbers of many offshore people were cut. Keep the fat, cut the working bees. Nice job to the vendors hired to look at the work force. You are a high paid individual contributing and working your butt off, but you don't have seven people reporting to you - good bye!!

McK running the show at HQ for decisions on IT headcount reduction. Bloomberg covered a piece on Oct 10 about the Cat losses. Infrastructure cut to the bone. Now, time for Data, Practices and Standards group to go. Very expensive heads there, not contributing to anything.
I can’t believe how blind the decision makers are. Cutting a couple CEO’s (and there are plenty) would pay for entire teams that service and run the business every day. They are cutting off arms and legs when they have 17 heads.
Cloud leader gone.. interesting how IS leader is saving his favorites. He will run this area to the ground very soon or get replaced as he has no experience to run this space.
our whole team was cut - told we were redundant. made me laugh.
Fort Worth was hit today, too. A business like ours doesn't really need IT or data centers, right?
