Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Shrinky Dink

CVS is missing its loss control budget now. One year of DIPL's running around failing store leaders for not looking at a report and has the program worked? CVS is missing shrink control budget and will miss by more next year. This is a trend. The program s---s. Fire them all and bring back an LP team that can impact shrinkage correctly. Time for Gumby and the AP team to go back to Macy's.

From an article about the merger!

BENEFITS FOR CONSUMERS

Uniquely Integrated, Community-Based Health Care Experience

Consumers will benefit from a uniquely integrated, community-based health care experience. The combined company will also be able to better understand patients' health goals, guide them through the health care system, and help them achieve their best health. There will be expanded opportunities to bring health care services to consumers every day. CVS Pharmacy locations will include space for wellness, clinical and pharmacy services, vision, hearing, nutrition, beauty, and medical equipment, in addition to the products and services our customers currently enjoy. An entirely new health services offering available in many locations will function as a community-based health hub dedicated to connecting the pathways needed to improve health and answering patients' questions about their health conditions, as well as pr-scrip-ion d--gs and health coverage.

A TV news show mentioned the data collected by CVS (Extracare I guess) could help to predict possible health problems in the future. So I guess before they get rid of soda, chips and candy they will flag you as a future diabetic and Aetna can charge more for your insurance. Maybe they will track an entire community and Aetna can raise their rates for the whole community. Brings new meaning to “serving the community”! The CVS Front Store will eventually only be “Healthy” products and services. Lots of articles on line about merger and Larry’s mustache is working overtime. Like everything out of his mouth you need to read between the lines.

As a long-term employee I have seen many charges from: company to company (name changes), policies, prices have always have been high, hours have been cut (over and over) one person does the work of 3. Things just don't get done, customer service sufferers (but, the company expects Great service) and it's all your fault !!

But, here is what I see coming: reduced front end merchandise (if any), more hour cuts, Managers will be the only ones left to run the front however, they will provide you with self-serve registers and maybe, a few part time millennials workers. Focus will be on health care, clinics etc.. But, hey that "Extra Care" program,( coupon Monster) might finally meet it's demise or morph into an even bigger "Cluster F....." !!

Good Luck people

AP are now unprofessional Head hunters. Long time managers are current targets and lead techs . Older employees watch yourself.

If they think removing the mfr coupon key is going to reduce shrink, good luck with that. The stupidity amazes me.

Until they fix the POS to be able to figure out these multiple coupon types, photocopied coupons,, fake coupons and figure them out accurately, we will endure shrink, just on another line. With our system it will either be on shrink line or gross margin line because DL will not back up mgrs on coupon fraud.

It's their money, not mine..

I got written up for not doing my weekly CAR. I have like 10 people that work in my building, and I say the same sh-- to the same 3 people every week. But if you want me to burn an hour and a half every week, I'll do it! Such waste of time...

That's what happens when you focus solely on internal theft. But hey, great customer service prevents theft right? My store is in the ghetto, beer runs like crazy as well as thieves stealing massive amounts of cosmetics. Between trying to do your job and trying to prevent these folks from stealing, it's hard. Manager in my district got fired for trying to detain someone, which resulted in a physical altercation.
