Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Lesson to be learned. Don't ever sell Eddie an amusement park.

He will strip it for parts! Somebody wants to buy a steel framing member off of a rollercoaster, he would take it off and sell it to them even though people are riding the roller coaster. He'd take the electric drive motor out of the ferris wheel to sell off and would not care that he'd leave people stranded in the air. The morale of the story is - Eddie is a glorified chop shop artist. He's a dismantler. He has taken just about all the useful parts off this company. All the real estate (stores), the brand names. He's about to leave 80,000 people stuck on a ride with no way off and that ride is about to come crashing to the ground.

Great analogy, but I would go one step further. This scum bucket of a vulture capitalist is a surgeon who is harvesting the vital organs of the patient he was charged with curing. Admitted to the hospital in need minor elective surgery, he has harvested the kidneys, liver, and one lung when he was supposed to remove a benign cyst. As the patient dies on the table he cries out, "But we did everything we could to save the patient, and in the end, he just didn't have the will to live"!!!

There's a special place in hell for him and the board he appointed.

It's like what happened to Astroworld in Houston, Tx. People who thought they were financial geniuses decided the land was worth more than the amusement park enjoyed by millions of people for decades, so they tore down the whole park to build condo towers. The new construction financing fell through and everything fell apart, and now over a decade later, it's still an empty patch of dirt with such a small fraction of its previous value that the Houston Rodeo bought the land to store their equipment on during their off-season.
