To those who are saying that this is the end, it is not. Don't assume the worst. Eddie Lampert is a brilliant investor and a brilliant leader. Alan Carr is going to pull strings to get us to pull through. We are halfway there. Stores are stocked well. Sales are in better shape. Unnecessary costs have been cut. The missing puzzle piece is you. You need to stay positive. You need to want Sears and Kmart to succeed. Serve your members with a smile and make sure they feel welcome. If anybody asks what is going on, tell them that we are finding our way to serve them better. We all need to have faith that things are getting better, because they will. $134 million may seem like a lot to you and me but it is not that much money in the grand scheme of things, especially to a company this size. We will have that paid off in no time and we will use this as a learning experience to become a better retailer. We will grow into the two retail powerhouses we once were. Chin up! Stay strong, stay positive.

How desperate is this company to still have a shill on here? That post is a frantic bid for Eddie to try and hide what is ridiculously obvious. What a demented, sick, shell of a human. This defeat could be the last straw for his mental health...What there is left, that is...

@VA2Lg8z-jgb The economy is way better than it was 2 years ago. SHC’s failing has nothing to do with the economy overall, it has to do with the lack of leadership and a clear vision from the top down. They focus on metrics instead of the customer. They put unloading a truck in an hour over the fact that they didn’t give you the payroll to have employees to unload the truck. They cut a front end lead position because they don’t think they need someone overseeing customer service at the front end. They promote people who failed because they don’t know how to handle the situation. They cut the employee discount to save a buck and don’t give raises and yet expect to have quality employees who give a damn about their jobs when they get 16 hours per week or 32 if you’re full time. You have a leader who doesn’t even go to the corporate offices. That’s what’s wrong with this company, not the economy.

Brilliant investor? Undoubtably. I do find it hard to believe anyone that worked for Eddie at SHC would call him a brilliant leader. Having been with the company a decade post merger most conversation centered around his lack of people skills, ability to execute a vision, volatility in the board room (when he actually was on campus) and most often his lack of skill to run a retail company. Ecomm has had, and will continue to have amazing potential but without the mind of Jeff Bezos you can't sacrifice the stores and all the jobs that were lost with it for customer data and another website with a lot of marketplace "stuff" with no point of view. I hope for all those still employed there and for all that built the legacy of the brand that it all works out, but it's going to take SHC bringing in a real leader.
