When you go on a job interview, they do not know you "survived" multiple rounds of layoffs. I really hope your not beating on that to make you look important. They see "Weatherford" as your last employment and do not bother to call you in buddy. Your gonna need all the luck in the world with those thick blinders you are wearing.

" So let me get this straight. You wouldn’t hire someone simply because they work for Weatherford? You wouldn’t hire somebody who had survived round after round of layoffs? Simply because they worked for the company that likely fired you?" 1) I resigned in 3013 could no longer stomach the hateful culture. 2) Weatherford's culture takes a while to train out of a person the has had years of "indoctrination" WFT's term not mine. There are a few carefully selected field hands I would hire in a heartbeat because they didn't buy into the culture. 3) surviving multiple rounds of layoffs is not indicative of ones value.

Trust me...with that level of poor judgment, I can guarantee that nobody would want to work for you. 4) In 5 1/2 years since I left WFT I have assembled one of the finest groups of craftsmen, technicians and managers that survived a 3 1/2 year down turn. So if that is poor judgement I'm guilty.

I believe the point they were attempting to make was that a lot of folks, above field level, who are still at Weatherford are not there owing to the skill or knowledge they have. They are there because their good buddy gave them a job they were not qualified to have.

This is a generality of course and there are without a doubt good managers there that another company would be lucky to pick up. That said, there are also a lot of folks that fall into the category he was referring to and I would agree, I would not touch them as they bring little to nothing to the game - beyond having a good friend that they will likely want you to hire as well.

Yes I am a past WFT manager and had issues with them when first released. Understand the reason and am in a much better place now without the stress and internal politics that is rampant at St James - in a way, glad I was released when I was.

I'd hire ex Weatherford guys, field operators of course, they have a lot of good guys.

As for the rest, gotta agree with the last poster, wouldn't touch any of em with a ten foor pole.

I personally would never hire a WFT employee. I'd bet that is the prevailing sentiment in the industry.

Years of corruption, low performance, and incompetence that is so wide spread across the the company world wide I would consider them a very high risk hire and you wouldn't know if you got a good one or not until you're stuck with the cost of kicking them to the curb.

Wish you all the best of luck but the longer y'all stay the less opportunity you will have.

Ever hear, “You better get while the gettings good”. Be wise to do that. Yes that does mean you will likely have to actually perform, that is what companies that make money expect.

Im planning to keep in the saddle and ride this old nag into the dust, s..t, thats what all the managers and various office parasites are doing so why not us field guys.

Then ill just get another job, easy as pie, theres tons of work for us out there.

Its gonna be fun watching the managers and parasites try and find a job.

There hasn't been any good rumors or info lately. We all know its going down, but where is the juicy details? We all know tou can't run a business without equipment to sell, rent, or service. The lack of sellable goods will shut us down sooner than they think. I think the transformation updates they keep showing is our countdown to the end. Last they said was halfway there and ahead of schedule. It seems right

I'm still here. Probably one of the few left. It's very true that people are leaving this place. Those who are left are either going down with the ship or plotting their escapes. Nobody is happy, except for a few still collecting big paychecks. Great place to work. One Weatherford, something like that.

Why bother turning off the lights and locking the doors. Just walk out

Maybe things are turning around, I doubt that this ship could sink any further.

We were instructed at WHR that the last one out has to perform the lockdown and turn off the lights.
