What some of you may not realize, is that some Managers have been working their asses off behind the scenes for years now to keep things together. You may not talk to them much and it may not seem like they are good for anything but trust me, they are working hard. Yes there are WFR's and sometimes they are completely out of the managers control. But for some, their only mission is to keep their people employed. Not only because they need to service a customer but because they really do care about their people and their families. Those managers are out there and are still with DXC. ;)

Mr/Mrs Service desk, the one you refer is only dedicated in one center in Asia.
It is hosted and executed by an Asia Leader in Workplace.
I do agree with you. He is a brilliant and nice manager. Very rare nowadays.
The filtering kicked in but here it is:
A total w@nker at best and an utter m0r0n manager otherwise.
A nice manager now will soon become an arsehole when they demand extra work be undertaken with no or inadequate compensation. A few years ago I was not oncall and a particular IT system crashed. My manager called me in at short notice; I spend 15+ hours over a weekend fixing the issues and my manager turned around and said that the issues should have been fixed within 5 minutes. Instead of 2 days in lieu the manage said that I could leave work 1 hour earlier the next day.
A total w-------rr at best and an utter mo--n manager otherwise. ML: I hope you read this cos you are surrounded by many of these types of people that don't look after your staff. I was WFR'd (you picked up a bonus for that) and I have a life outside of DXC.
I agree as well that there is some good manager around. I just come to work, and i don't bother what going on. I been working in Service desk few for 5 years, joined DXC about 2 year. I don't have visibility on management side, but what i feel comparing with my ex company, nothing big different.
But at least, recently something really catch my attention, with 100 hours development program (not sure if this is within my center or entire company). I been given opportunity to attend training, senior manager came and communicate to us, one by one and talk to me, trying to give me opportunity, even get me a coffee. I would give him a thumb up.
For me, that is already exceed what he need to do. And he do it brilliantly. Nice manager, of course very knowledgable too.
I somehow agree to this. I still have a good manager, good senior manager. But higher than that i don't know. Even with all the problem in workdays, i wrongly report to a senior manager, he still helping me even he is away from office, even get back to office on weekend to help me.
I see a lot initiatives he did for my team, at least my centre. Although i see him struggling to complete his work until late at night, he at least earn my best respect. Thanks a lot to him.
Categorise managers in two. Business managers and people managers. Some people managers are ok I’ll admit it. They know this is a sh-- company so they do try and make it easier for staff.
Business managers are dumb as f--- and what’s worse is there are LOADS of these dumb managers left!!
For every one competent manager there are 50 id--ts. They have cliques and anybody working in Legacy CSC will know who they are. Chesterfield is mostly full off them.
Some are soo r----ded they don’t even know the most basic things about the job. They only got the jobs because they know each other.
Stuff I knew 15 years ago I’m having to educate the managers on now.
Good managers lol haha
"there are good managers..." Yep! That's the problem. No LEADERS, just lingering losers from EDS, HP, CSC that can't get a job anywhere else.
who wrote this? brown nosing scum bag.
probably a UK scab ref CSC Denmark.
low life.
Looks like, talks like and smells like a Snake pit....
if there are really good managers left , well I have not seen them for a while then, my bad.
The teams are holding themselves together the best they can, 50% of my team wants to leave DXC the rest tries to "embrace the s---"as good as they can . Sales is miles away from reality and delivery is lost in a wasteland of no support en lack of enablement.
Bad things are wrapped in gold, example: We have 15 k budget for training per year, YAAAY ! DXC is so cool providing this ( 35 FTE team, WTF.) Management obviously thinks their staff can not do their math, fact is they don't give a sh-- anymore.
Get out and if you consider a job at DXC , do your homework ! Check Glassdoor, Kununu etc. first.
I believe there are managers that think they are good managers still at DXC. If you really care about the people you left a long time ago. Those that remain are those that are looking out for their own carreer, and "believe they look out for their people" to keep their good consience. When you are a good manager, you let your people grow, you motivate and get results through coaching. You protect your employees and do what is right, not what is allowed. You speak up, and revolte if the company is going the wrong route. Have not seen a lot of those in DXC. (say none!)
Finally it is the fault of the managers when the company is doing well and the management is flUCKing the employees left right and center
What a croc of sh*t
The best managers left a while ago - Only the burnt on unbillable arse lickers remain
The company is full of staff doing their jobs and carrying out day to day duties totally unsupervised, lots of mangers don’t even work in the same country as the staff let alone in the same building, or even know what their staff really do, It’s just the way that this welded together hybrid company has worked for years, best thing to do is make it work for you, shafting DXC whilst keeping the customer and ones colleagues happy, not a great place for moral anymore, but it is what it is.
Granted, there might be some good managers left. Not in my division though. All the goods left for greener pastures or retired (most earlier than expected). My current 'people care' manager has done nothing except approve a vacation I asked for. The delivery manager is some person in India after the best manager I've ever had left in disgust several months ago.
All very true. However almost no-one has any power or influence, so it makes no difference whether they are good managers, or nice people, or doing their best. It will all just end in tears when the company implodes
