Is anyone writing their schedule to a labor percentage of sales? What percentage are you writing it? Hows it working?

To the one genius with a comment regarding bottom line..
What is the goal for anyone (corp or small business) when starting a business venture? To make a profit.. profit is displayed as your "bottom line". There are a few ways to grow it and you can assess the best route by reviewing a P&L sheet... the 2 ways to accomplish a satisfactory bottom line are to either increase sales (as everything in a P&L is based on a percentage of sales) or cut expenses. I'm guessing youre not producing enough sales to cover your payroll overhead (the highest expense on a P&L) therefore you make adjustments based off the percentage of sales
Why do they keep cutting so much? They are going to cut them self's out of a job!
This was one of the reasons I quit. They kept cutting my labor. I ran an advance and a carquest. Advance has no idea how to run a business. I would have to go get everything from surrounding stores. But kept cutting my labor. I've been at napa for a week what a better company. Cant wait to crush advance and take all my customers with me.
Your DM has your percentage targets, they vary week to week.
More sales less help Cheep Cheep. only looking at the bottom line.
