Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Can I sue Qualcomm

I got laid off and exiting in Sept, Since it was Qualcomm decision to let me go, Since I worked for 10 months, Shouldn't they pay my bonus for 10 months ?

It will be a lesson to all company that dont layoff before bonus cycle, as this is cheap trick to save money.

If you were “laid off” after only 10 months of employment it means your performance wasn’t up to par. Easier to lay off an employee instead of firing someone for performance.

bonus is not mandatory. go ahead and sue, you will lose.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything at anytime in the good old USA. Just ask Freescale.

OP was not clear in time worked. Qualcomm is on fiscal year of October to September, hence someone who worked for 10 months through September is assumed to be a FY18 new hire.

I hope you don't work in quality control or root cause analysis because you missed poorly stated fundamental assertions in the problem statement presented by the OP.

Sincerely,

Bonuses are always at the discretion of the employer. They are not required to pay out any bonus money to anyone if they don't want to.
