Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Seems that Qualcomm is on a roll

The first phone call in 5G has been made. Unfortunately, not with Intel's modem. We got their expensive former management, and they got the technology.

Ericsson and Qualcomm's Snapdragon X50 modem, here's the link:

Intel modem division can't break even, even after getting the complete allocation from apple. Seems like Intel is being bent over and taken from behind on modem prices by apple.

The low price is not surprising given the inferior intel modem. Wait till apple launches an expensive phone with a modem that is outperformed by lower cost devices. Once consumers start complaining about pricey phones with inferior modems ,apple will replace the Intel heat sink / modem with their in-house modem by copying the IP it has learnt over the years from Q. Intel IP is useless like their engineer's team work.
