Windstream's enterprise service sales rose 1% year over year to $730 million, representing 50.5% of the company's total revenues. Wholesale product sales increased from zero to $0.1 million. The remaining six reportable sub-divisions in Windstream's portfolio all reported declining sales. The company should probably spin off and/or shut down most of its operations to refocus exclusively on that healthy enterprise opportunity. Until that happens, Windstream will remain a terrible investment.

I still believe that the chain of command is fudging the books and some numbers to stay afloat. It's more like MCI Worldcom or Enron to me.
It feels like the bottom of the ninth inning and we're down 1-0. Coach is bringing in pinch hitter, SDWAN, to save the game. Little does coach know, but SDWAN is just another average player in a new uniform that hasn't gotten on base all season. Meanwhile, owners and management are ready to pop the bottles in the press box. They're already celebrating...
-Reverse Split: Temporarily delayed the boat from going past the O-ring in the toilet. Basically just brought in a relief pitcher to get thru the inning...
-Refinanced debt: This upside down game of economics doesn't ever get you ahead. All it does it delay the game into extra innings even though you're out of reserve players...
Meanwhile, outside of the stadium, Aurelius has surrounded the bus and started taking the tires off. I know we have a spare bus on the way, but by the time it gets here, I don't think any of the team will be left to get on board. At least not the valuable players such as our shutout pitchers and employees or MVP customers.
Financial engineering at its finest
It was bad but not as bad as if run by mice - so good, don’t you get it man? Will you Hand me my champagne, I’m busy planning my next trip to France, might get a chalet this time
I stand corrected, this is a Motley Fool story, very credible.
Champagne popping and dancing in the streets of Little Rock today. Wow, how pathetic to declare a victory on a reported loss of 93.7 Million. What am I missing ?
The OP should have used quotes and given credit, this was part of a financial story after today's 99 cent pop. Might have been a Seeking Alpha author, they are some well respected analyst.
You the "wtf" poster is off base and disrespectful, I probably remember calling you for support!
There’s also a yahoo finance article talking about how strong a quarter ws had.
The original poster didn’t write this. It was a news article from Yahoo Finance. Maybe ask them wtf they are talking about. Google is your friend
To the person who said
"You don't know Wtf you are talking about"
The stock is useless. I stopped my 401k because I didn't want it matched with stock.
Yeah most the people on this board shouldn’t worry about layoffs because they can make a fortune on Wall Street and are the next ceo of a Fortune 500 company.
So, is Windstream going to be able to pay off 6 Billion in dept by 2024 with this meager growth. Highly dout it. Maybe 10%, will have to kick the can a little further when they become due. A loss of 2.30 a share is awful. No if ands or buts about that.
There are many reasons WIN is a terrible investment, but this thinking is pretty elementary. There are positive contribution segments that while declining are still able to fund investments and generate cash.
I second that!
You have no clue of wtf you are talking about.
