Exit process was well coordinated and handled professionally, except for the last step. Where collected badges were tossed into a blue bin (on top of the table). To them, our badges are garbage but at one time, they were things we held with pride.

dont be loyal to the compnay be loyal to your job - other wise you will never be happy
You havent learned lesson yet? Slaving at Qualcomm can never be pride. Start your own venture. Its ok, it might be small now but it is"yours" and no one can toss to garbage. You will be proud owner.
What the hell did you want them to do with it, enshrine it in a gold plated obelisk? It's a badge, if you held any sentimental value to it that's your mistake.
At the exit interview, they said "Gimme your badge and GTFO"
Mine was tossed in a bin as well. I was surprised that the hr rep didn’t inquire as to why I was leaving the company. This reinforced my decision to leave as a good move.
It is company property
Executives are here to loot as long as they can until the company goes down.
Yes, my badge got treated in exactly the same way.
I suppose I should be happy that it wasn't shredded right in front of me.
Badge has become GTFO badge
Those of us that were discarded due to age and/or gender, once took pride in the company we worked for. We were proud to say we worked at Qualcomm and worked our butts off. Then some paper pusher somewhere decided our number was up. Remember, businesses never care about the employee, the only thing that matters are the investors and $$.
Are you laid off...or voluntary?
