Permian Leadership Change Yet Again

The Permian Basin is the hottest basin in the world right now... but not at COP. One reason for this is the revolving door at the top of the BU. The last few years it has gone from BP to TK to NO and now HH. The managers care more about using it as a stepping stone to a bigger and better paycheck than actually getting value out of what the company owns.

HH is a go-getter, no BS, aggressive manager, she makes things happen. Maybe as someone below said, she’ll try to implement an Eagle Fartization but what matters is that when good ideas are presented to her, she doesn’t play around too long before spending the $$$$$

Umm nobody likes the fart, even those who are farting or have farted. Not jealous much?

People outside of the Eagle Ford seem to hate the Eagle Ford until they get a job in the Eagle Ford. Jealous much?

Former employee here. I’ve seen HH in various roles over the years. Don’t know her personally, but have met her a few times. I disagree with the comments below. I think she’s one of the few people at her level that actually deserve to be where they are. I also see her as being less political and just doing what is right for the company instead of herself. Good for her. If I could come back I’d love to work in her organization.

Couldn't agree more with the comments regarding $100 oil. HH will put in all of these "teams" and groups and it is complete BS as at the end of the day the manager or supervisor makes the decision and he typically has his mind made up before going in. Complete waste of time and money. HH will bloat up your area when the money is flowing from high oil and get her pats on the back from building this great organization. Never mind it doesn't ever get ahead of the other companies, simply follows nehing the others - leading from the rear. EF had groups trying to figure out what everyone else was doing so they could copy it. That says a lot about a "leader" in the industry.

Permian is so different from the fart, I am not sure what they expect to change. We will soon see that the only reason the fart worked was $100 oil, a lack of shallow fields to have to worry about and 18 rigs getting us into debt. It will be even tougher now that they can’t create 20 teams staffed with 20 team members each to try and deal with each and every darn issue. 80% solution? Not at COP.

The Great Plains BU is essentially all the mature assets we will begin to market in force once this all settles down. The GCBU will be around for 10 years until the fart sputters out. The chalk play is something too difficult for COP to figure out on its own. If the exploration wells don’t pan out we will walk. Our big three are not that big, with luck helping us in the fart.

Exploration will wither away. We will soon walk from the whole South America train wreck. They can’t find oil to save their lives let alone start new unconventional plays internationally, I mean we couldn’t even do it in the US at $100 oil. Not sure how any management there continues to have a job. They are only good at spending money hand over fist.

We are shrinking to get sold, we can’t create a sustainable company on our own. Sad state of affairs.

The company will not "figure out" Delaware until the Eaglefartication of Permian is complete. With HH at the helm you can bet that that will be soon. It will be spun that the previous team was clueless and it took everyone with Eaglefart experience to understand it. In reality, it is just a matter of funding at a high enough level to drill enough wells, something the company has so far refused to do.

We are not about value creation; we’re about giving the top managers the most compensation. When you have to call yourself a “leadership” team... you’re not.
