Intel seems to be losing on every front but don't worry 5G , data centric , virtuous cycle will save Intel. But only if you believe in the strategy.
Now start chanting 5G, data centric and virtuous cycle over and over again till you believe in it.
Intel's future is in your hands keep on believing and chanting till the stock price increases.
SA and BK took a massive risk and blew it with 10nm shrink goals, they fooooked Intel for the next 5 years. How SA is still employed boggles the mind, then again AB, the dinosaur is asleep at the wheel.
2019 is going to be a very ugly year for INTC. Some people don't realize that sampling to high volume rollout is a very long process. AMD has already been qualified in many of the so called hyperscalers and they will be ramping to very high volume on EPYC next year. No, I'm not a troll. I work in the industry and have very good direct and indirect insight into the contracts and negotiations that are already in place. The next server upgrade cycle is already a clear victory for AMD. It's already a done deal. Wall St. doesn't really have a full understanding of the shift that has already happened (contracts in place). The 20% market share that has been thrown around the Internet is chump change and way off. The reason INTC keeps gouging prices on the server CPU's is because they can get away with it right now. They are trying to restock the war chest while they still can even if it means burning bridges with customers.
Let the Intel Fanboys (buoys) go down with the ship... The article is great and really summarizes the situation quite well. What newly found Intel CEO is going to step-in and take the blame for Intel's problems? Not the one the company needs...
@szi - Typical arrogant, kool-aid drinking Intel fanboi. Look at AMD and esp. Nvidia growth rate in data-center for the past 2 or 3 years. Now who's in trouble, shill?
AMD made 2 nickels last quarter on servers, Intel Billions? Who's in trouble again, shiller?
Intel shipped a few hundred 10nm 2-core, GPU-disabled CNL c-ap in the dying days of 2017, but will not launch volume until almost 2 years later. Now THAT is an under-delivering paper launch, @joz.
Funny how the sycophantic, brown-nosing, CIrcuit reading, blue kool-aid drinking scum like @joz are STILL in denial.
Intel losing sever market share last quarter with Epyc 1 says otherwise than a paper launch. Intel seems to the be ones doing paper launches they days. correction. it can't even deliver on paper launches. 10nm no wait 10nm no wait really 10nm now shipping...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another over-hyped paper launch by AMD who will once under deliver.
Technology advantage aside, AMD has one other big advantage.... A third party Chinese company to make Epyc clones for the Chinese market, where some Of Intel's server chips cant be sold due to export restrictions, and a nice royalty check to AMD for the clones.
sold my AMD $13 January 2019 call options.
Taking my pile of cash and going all in on AMD $17 January 2020 call options...... I am pretty confident we will look back, and $22/share will look cheap for AMD if server situation is as bad as it is for Intel.
and if it isn't, easy come easy go...
Just like last year's Technology Day, this will just be another exercise in lies, fake news, hype and propaganda to attempt to deceive investors.
Charlie, as usual, gets it right 10/10.
Well, Charlie doesn't hold back on this one. And he's right.
Start looking at the long game, folks. Datacenter is what moves Wall Street for Intel, and if any of this is remotely true (and Charlie's been right for the last three years), the balance of power and stock prices are about to shift in a big way.
Also, for reference, download the Technology Day presentations from the Intel website before they get taken down....
Wheeeeeeee!!!
