VP states more lay offs are imminent, budgets are lacking, the last 2 work force reductions resulted in rise in stock, more and more "big cities" are contracting out work. It may take I to 4th quarter, but more lay offs are coming. If you can get established with a sub now, better chance you will make as much if not more when there are an abundant number of "ex" CenturyLink employees.

I don't know a tech out in the field who isn't firing out resumes looking for a job before they get rid of us to go all contractor. The SRO is even looking here.
There will definitely be more layoffs. Field techs aren't the only people that work for the company. They lay off IT people and software developers like they don't care if they make anything new or improve anything. And they don't really give a sh-- what customer's want. Jeff hates consumer business and would sell it off in a second if he felt he could get away with it. Don't be an id--t, start looking for a job.
The person who wrote there will not be anymore layoffs is delusional, because I heard today there will be another 1000 let go in the next 30 Days
Gotta honor the current contract. March 2020. Then he’ll break the Union.
Theres a rumor in the Broomfield office that Centurylink/L3 CEO J Storey is going lay off all union people, therefore the company will hire all contractors and break the union by years end
Yeah Centurylink aka New Level3 has no loyalty to its employees. The executives want to get the stock price up, so they all get big bonuses and payouts. Bunch of greedy people at the top and can care less about its customer service.
We are a group of 14 techs left in our area. Combination CO, CST and National Field Ops. No BSTs left. Everyone sending out resumes. Lots of "sick" days being used for interviews. Even the SRO had interview at Verizon. Everyone desperate to get out.
Shorthanded, they look at pure headcount now, not where, not what they do and not importance, Stock goes up because of layoffs only due to they think they are saving money on Benny's paid not customers lost due to inability to provide service and or the network being reliable. Data bases are not correct, staffing not adequate, resources not being approved to put in orders. Those left told to do additional work they are not trained for.
But hey Stock options will mature be cashed out and renewed and they will still pay the dividend to the Board and executives digging the hole in the ground with a backhoe and the rest the insiders.
The whole portion of this that is sad is they seem completely unaware from the VP's on up. The whole manage by fear has sealed the fate of many, if you don't say yes, your a problem, and then gone.
There won't be any layoffs. Company is too short handed. Someone needs to put in all these backlogged 10m lines. Customers are demanding 10 m. Rumor is Sprectrum is leaving new York and all the customers will move to Florida so they can keep sprectum
