Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel has become a much less profitable company during the clown's regime

Year --> Revenue / Profit

2014 --> $55.87bn / $11.70bn

2015 --> $55.36bn / $11.42bn

2016 --> $59.39bn / $10.32bn

2017 --> $62.76bn / $9.60bn

Higher revenue does not mean higher profits. It will only get worse with huge margin compression from 10nm ramp in 2019. Any questions?

Intel is using contra revenue tactics to keep their server customers from going Epyc. Read Charlie at Semiaccurate (in this case 100% accurate).

Cash reduction due to Altera and MobilEye acquisition? Or are those already accounted for?

Having so little cash on hand.. (2.6 billion), is not a good sign for any business. So the question for BS (CEO), what's the reason intel corp is burning through it's cash on hand so fast?

@1khr - Huge stock buybacks to artificially prop up the stock price, it should never have gotten past the ~$40ish level. Anything above that is fake news.

I'd like to know what has happened to Intel's Cash on Hand.

Currently at 2.61B, down 77.63% in the last quarter. They were at 12 billion just a year ago.

What are they deficit funding?

@gyw - @heu here - I agree with you; my argument was that OP was using selective stats to make a point. He/she scuttled their own premise by doing so.

Because BK is not, never was, and never will be a businessman. He always thought he was the reincarnation of Steve Jobs ie whatever he invests in will be the next big thing. What a fool Intel lived with for five years!

At least 10nm has saved Intel some money on building fabs.

@heu - Yeah, after they gutted costs across the board. For how long will that be sustainable? Second half of 2018 will already see some cracks forming and the real disaster will come next year. The Big Klown sacrificed long-term stability and profitability for unsustainable short term gains in revenue. Management 101. This will be a case for the history books.

To be fair, Intel has Net Income of ~$9.5b so far this year, so not a good stat.

How long will Intel lose money on non-volatile memory? Profitability always seem out of reach.

As long as loss making business units are kept on life support, the profit margins will keep on decreasing.
