Seagate layoffs in August

Are we looking at more layoffs in August as several people here said or has that been debunked?

I've heard some comments to that effect at the office as well, so I'm inclined to believe the rumors this time. However, with so little detail available, it's as good as not knowing anything.

Any news on this? One way or the other?

I am coy to say that this coy waiting game for a decent verp has gotten me into a real coy.

I know I am totally expendable, as anyone could do my job, so it is just a matter of time before this coy boy must crawl away into the great coy beyond.

Good luck to you all and don't be afraid to say you're coy, like me. You'll feel better once you cum out of the closet.

How would most of us resolve this waiting game if one day the company sc-ap the layoff pack?

Hope it do not happen but I wonder...

My groups numbers have dropped over 50% since the first big layoff. The latest verp set the age at 55 and decreased the kicker to 50k. We have one new guy. He’s great at what but we lost a lot of experience and knowledge to the layoff and people leaving because they tired of the drama. Basically, my group is over worked and understaffed. I I saw the verp email and got excited. Now I’m just waiting on a package while doing more because we have less.

An even scarier scenario - people stay.

That is the scary thing here. There may be a flood of experience fleeing the Coy and not much talent to step up. In this high tech employment climate, who on earth would bother with a spinning disc company?

People are quitting. Newbies are declining offer. No need for layoff.
