Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

How long before Qualcomm collapses?

Investor and eXCOMmer. During my stint here, I noticed that very few new hires join this company. Three only ones who join Qualcomm are entry level kids with no competing offers.

Of course there's no way to keep up with the level of turnover they're seeing the days. Question is how long is going to last before it starts making a tangible impact. I'm trying to find the best time to sell.

2000 = ~400 equivalent output from here

Also, the entropy of a 2k person team vs 400 is a real killer.

Teams, held together, win championships.

@1lch there are no 2000 new hires in India, just about few 100s at max. These kids are bright and fast learners

There are plenty of new hires in India. Additionally there will be about ~2,000 new. These new hires will be added in India in preparation for the coming layoff of ~2,000 in San Diego near the end of this fiscal year. That is if in fact they have enough time to onboard that many new hires.

I think QCOM will have a hard time delivering on growth promises with layoffs and attrition.

The mobile chipset market is healthy after successfully fighting off MTK. The challenge going forward is growth and the lumpy nature of premium tier sales if Samsung or Huawei decide to roll their own SOCs as they have in the past.

I don’t think it takes much engineering talent to just iterate on these mobile chipsets.

With NXP dead, I find it difficult to believe Q can generate any meaningful adjacent market revenues.

@ugr not hating on any entity. I left for a specific set of reasons with no regrets whatsoever following my decision. I am also very keen on protecting my investment. Wouldn't mind an honest read to that end.

Probably now is a good time to sell. Not sure how 30B buyback will affect the future price.

Sell now and stop hating because you're an EX-QCOMMer. There is a reason you no longer work here.
